T is for Thankfulness

Pause. Breathe. Smell the roses. In that moment of stillness, something shifts — you begin to see the beauty and abundance that was always there, waiting to be noticed.

Pause.

Breathe.

Smell the roses. See the butterflies. Hear the raindrops.

Breathe again.

In that moment of stillness, something happens. You observe. And with that observation comes a certain awareness — an awareness that helps you connect the dots and recognise that there is such beauty and abundance all around you. Even when you feel burdened by the activities of everyday life, a moment of pause reveals that there is plenty. In that moment, be thankful.

The Gift You Woke Up With

You woke up this morning and took that first breath.

Be thankful. Feel empowered.

You have the gift of life and with it, the gift of possibilities. Every single day that begins with breath is a day full of potential — potential to love, to grow, to give, to experience, to become.

Thankfulness is an attitude. An attitude of gratitude. It is the practice of working with all that you have at your disposal, always choosing to see the glass half full. It is allowing yourself to settle into the flow of abundance — because believe it, there is so much around us to be thankful for.

Three Words That Shift Everything

The next time you become aware of your breath — whether you are sitting quietly, walking outside, or pausing between tasks — try this:

Utter the words: "I am thankful."

Feel how those three words shift your entire energy. Notice the subtle softening. The quiet opening. The way the weight of the moment becomes just a little lighter.

And when you are faced with a difficult situation — stop. Before you react, before you spiral, before you decide what it all means — say: "I am thankful…"

Then add to that statement. What, in this moment, are you thankful for? Even one thing. Even something small. The clarity that follows might surprise you.

Your Thankfulness Practice

For the next few days, consciously articulate the things you are thankful for. Say them out loud. Write them down. Make notes — in a journal, on your phone, on a scrap of paper on your desk.

At the end of a day, a week, or a month, look back at what you have written.

You might be genuinely impressed by all that you have going for you. By the richness of your life that was quietly there all along, waiting for you to notice it.

Your practice this week: Each morning, before you reach for your phone or step into the busyness of the day, take one slow breath and say "I am thankful for…" — then finish the sentence. Write it down. Do this for seven days and see what shifts.

What are you most thankful for right now? I would love to hear — reach out at [email protected].
